Finding the perfect ring isn’t always easy. But we’re here to help. Here are a few ways to determine your perfect ring size. There are three common ways you can measure your ring size right at home so you can finally get your ring measurement right, for good.

Make Your Own Ring Sizer

1. Wrap a piece of string or floss around the base of your finger. Keep in mind that string and floss can stretch, so try not to pull your measuring tool too tight

2. Mark on the string where it first overlaps on your finger using a pen or marker. Measure the length from the start of the string to the pen mark with a ruler, taking down its length in millimetres.

3. Measure the length from the start of the string to the pen mark with a ruler, taking down its length in millimetres.

Use a Ring You Already Own

1. Choose a ring that correctly fits the intended finger

2. Print the Ring Sizer Guide. Ensure that this guide is printed in US Letter size paper and scaled to 100%.

3. Lay the ring over each size circle within the chart until you can closely match the inside edge to one of the circles on the guide. If the ring falls between two sizes, contact us to order the quarter size between them.

Printable Ring Sizer

1. Print the Ring Sizer Guide. Be sure this guide is printed in US Letter size paper and scaled to 100%.

2. After you cut out the printable ring sizer, carefully cut the line to create a slit.

3. Wrap the printable ring sizer around your finger at the base and pull the tapered end through the slit.

4. Note the number that lines up with the slit; this is your ring size! Remember that quarter sizes are also available if your sizer indicates that you are between whole and half sizes. After you cut out the printable ring sizer, carefully cut the line to create a slit.
  • Make sure you measure the right finger on the correct hand!
  • Rings with wider bands will fit a bit tighter. If you plan to measure one of your partner’s rings, try to measure one with a similar width as the ring you want to purchase.
  • Make sure the finger is at normal body temperature – fingers can shrink or expand when hot or cold.
  • The best time to measure your finger is the end of the day.
  • If your knuckle is bigger, take 2 measurements and choose a size in between – ring needs to fit over knuckle but not be too loose or it will shift around.
  • When you don’t know your partner’s ring size, selecting one of the standard ring sizes is your best choice. The average ring size for women is 6 to 6.5, and the average ring size for men is 9 to 10
